Question

This is my first time trying to do my tax with turbo

I'm a college student in I only have my 1098-t but I do not know how to file on here

If you qualify as a dependent on your parents return and they will actually claim you this year, they will report Form 1098-T on their return and claim the Education credit if they meet the requirements.

 

If no one is claiming you as a dependent, you will report the 1098-T on your return and claim the Education credit if you qualify. 

To report the 1098-T:

  1. Log in to your account.
  2. Go to Federal Taxes.
  3. Go to Deductions and Credits. 
  4. Scroll down to Education and click show more. 
  5. Go to Expenses and Scholarships (Form 1098-T) and click Start.
