Tips for filling out a W-4 for a part-time job when my husband makes major majority of income.

I just recently started a part-time job and I’m looking for info on how best to fill out my W-4. My husband works a salary job and makes the majority of our income (married filing jointly) and this part-time job that I got is just supplemental. I’ll be making probably about $400 every 2 weeks. I just received my first paycheck and no taxes were deducted, but I wasn’t sure if this was because my first check is lower than what it will normally be or if I filled out my W-4 incorrectly.

You can calculate how much you should have withheld by using the TurboTax W-4 Calculator 2024. The W-4 form is used to provide information to your employer so that they can determine how much to withhold from your paychecks.

Refer to the TurboTax Blog Understanding Your Withholding Allowance on Your Form W-4 and What Is a W-4 Form? for more information.
