Question

To file state with federal costs $44.99. If I don't e-file together, my only option is to delete the state. Does that mean delete it from e-file or delete it completely?

You don't really file them together, that's just the layout of the screen. You can file them separately as long as the Federal is done and accepted first. You can also print it and file by mail. The charge is for the use of the state software to prepare the state return. It's the same charge whether you e-file or file my mail. you can avoid paying the fee if you delete the state return and yes, that means deleting it altogether.
