To remove other dependent (Qualifying relative) whose gross income exceeds $5050, need amendment filing

I claimed one of my relative as a dependent while filing tax  she is living with me and I think she is qualify because I am providing shelter and food to her. But she is making money at out side taking care an elderly person at day time and she didn't told me about this. So while I filed tax return claiming her as a dependent and I get $500 credit from her side. But later I found she make around $15000 in 2024 from that part time work she is above 65 years old.

So now I found she is not qualify as a dependent because her gross income exceeds $5050 limit.

Please help me what can I do to resolve this issue. Do I need to amendment file or there is other options to resolve this issue.

Your help and support is greatly appreciated.

Thank you !!!!

Since she no longer qualifies to be your dependent on the 2024 tax return, then you will have to amend the 2024 tax return that you filed and remove her as a dependent.

Before starting to amend the tax return, wait for the tax refund to be received or the taxes due to be paid and processed by the IRS.
