Yes, you can transfer from desktop to online.

Here's how to transfer:  You have to use TurboTax Online on your computer to do this transfer (it won’t work from a mobile device/mobile web, or in the mobile app).

  1. Sign in to TurboTax Online and start a new return, or open or continue a return you already started.
  2. After the screen has loaded, select the TaxTools drop-down menu in the left column, and then select Tools.
  3. In the pop-up window, select the Transfer last year's TurboTax return from your computer link. (If you don’t see this option, you may need to clear and start over.)  Ref: How do I switch from TurboTax CD/Download to TurboTax Online?

Right, but what if you filed your 2019 taxes (this year's taxes) on the desktop version but want to upload to the online version?

Here's an article that will help you import your prior year's return.

I also need to do this to workaround the import for Mr. Cooper not working on desktop. It does work on the website. Of course we can't even upload the desktop return to online to use the workaround.

You can transmit last year's return from desktop to online, but cannot do it with the current tax year.  To use online now you need to put in everything online or you could use the option to have an expert do your taxes for you.
