Tried to finish filling, said my SSN has been use like I already filed, yet have not recieved a confirmation email that I've filed. What is happening?

This can happen if:

  • Someone claimed you as a dependent.
  • Your SSN was entered incorrectly.
  • The same SSN was used for both filers on a joint return.
  • Somebody filed a fraudulent return using your SSN.

First Review your entries in TurboTax to make sure there aren't any incorrect numbers:

  1. Sign in to your account and enter your return.
  2. Once you're on the Welcome back to TurboTax! screen, select My Info in the left menu.
  3. On the Personal info summary screen, make sure the SSN has been entered correctly.

If your information are correct, it could be that somebody filed a fraudulent return using your information.
