Trubo tax finding an error but won't allow me to fix it

Reviewing my federal return - it finds errors on forms the program created from the data I provided - it put the data in wrong but won't let me fix it.  I checked  - MY input was correct.

On Sched B 1099-INT - it entered the wrong state for my address then it finds a state/zip mismatch but will only let me fix the zip when the zip is correct.  I checked - MY ADDRESS has the correct state and ZIP.  I don't know where it got this info but it won't let me fix the error.

On a 1099-$ - it keeps telling me that the "RMD Box" needs to be checked if this is an RMD - it isn't.  I looked - when inputting the 1099-R I said none of it was an RMD.  Why is it asking me this question?

An error of that type, usually is the result of uploading a picture, or PDF of your 1099-INT instead of just entering it manually.

Delete that 1099-INT entirely, then enter the data manually, and that error won't occur (well....probably won't...95% sure).

Please clarify your question.

  • If you are in the TurboTax desktop version, you should not be making corrections in the FORMs mode.
    • Are you on the TurboTax desktop version, and trying to change things in the FORMs mode?

  • On Sched B 1099-INT - it entered the wrong state for my address then it finds a state/zip mismatch but will only let me fix the zip when the zip is correct.
    • Did you make corrections in the MY Info portion of the return?

  • I checked - MY ADDRESS has the correct state and ZIP.  I don't know where it got this info but it won't let me fix the error
    • Is this the same 1099-INT mentioned above?

  • On a 1099-$ - it keeps telling me that the "RMD Box" needs to be checked if this is an RMD - it isn't.  I looked - when inputting the 1099-R I said none of it was an RMD.  Why is it asking me this question?
    • I don't recall an RMD check box on a 1099-R.  Could it be an IRA check box?

Well, I tried to paste pictures of the screens I am seeing but, despite having a pic import button, apparently, that isn't allowed - complained about HTML when I pressed post...

I have looked (repeatedly) at the "My Info" section and the data is correct.  My address state is VA.  The check this entry screen for Sched B Form 1099-INT screen has "Recipient's address" state as "MA".  And, yes, same 1099.  It only allows me to change the ZIP not the state - the ZIP displayed is right.

The Form 1099-R "check this entry" screen is where the RMD box shows up.  This 1099-R is not an RMD.  On the data entry screens it specifically asked - and I specifically answered it is not and RMD (and, since this is a pension and not an IRA or 401K (which was ALSO asked and answered) - I don't get why this is showing up.
