TT 2023 return disappeared

My TT did an update last week and now my saved return is gone.   I save my file on a separate data drive and it's been there from about Jan to Feb  13 and I had been updating it w/o issue.  Now when I open TT it shows "Hi welcome to Turbotax" and appears as if it is starting a fresh return. There are no files listed in Recent files. What the hell.

 

A search of my drive for *tax*. or *.tax2023 or even *.pdf does not find my file.  I do find prior year returns but 2023 is gone.   

 

I always login as the same user so admin privs is not the issue.

 

Anyone else with this problem? solution? I am losing confindence in TT.

    what exactly can customer service do to fix this? If you don't have an answer you should just say that rather than send people somewhere they can't get help that only adds to their anger!!!!!!!!

    It sounds like your on the Desktop/CD software.

     

    • Did you already file your taxes, 
      • If you did file them, there would be a copy available.
      • The status of your return will show Pending, Accepted or Rejected.
    • Were you continuing to work on the return.
      • It's possible that you didn't save your progress before leaving the website. 
      • In this case, you may need to start a new return. 

    If you are in the Online software:

    • The file will autosave unless you log out.
    • This won't work if you shut down the computer without logging out.
    • If you logged out properly, you should confirm your using the proper ID.

    same problem here, have not logged in for a few weeks and was getting ready to file and everything is gone and yes i saved everything before i finish, the product asks you every time you log out. it appears that the last update wiped out files from users who either downloaded in January or have not been on since early February

    did you get an answer? I'm just now trying to get started with 2024 deluxe for Mac. It can't find 2023. & of course when I opened 2023 it demanded i update. & now when I open it, it does not show my return.

    Last year It would not import H&R Block which i had to use since Mac was too old. But got new mac & used TT last year thinking this year it should go smoothly.  I seem to remember this happening several years ago also.
