TT 2024 on Windows 10 not updating

TT 2024 Premier on Windows 10 will not update - the update process just hangs; Windows Task Manager shows there is NO cpu activity and the Memory usage remains stagnant  .  When I go to the Intuit/TT page to download the superupdate package, the title says "2023" NOT "2024".  I ran this superupdate package anyway and when it completed it says "finished updating TT 2023"  again, NOT 2024.

How do I get the **bleep** 2024 program to update????

TIA

    Thanks!

The link below will download the 2024 manual update. I don't know how up-to-date it is, but give it a try. All I did was change 2023 to 2024 in the link that's in the FAQ.

That link doesn't seem to take me a question/answer/download area, but rather to a very general tax forum area.  Any chance you would be able to provide a direct link?   And thanks, I corrected the Premium --> Premier.

Yeah...that Manual update is still set to a 2023 program......one of the CHAMPS or Moderators really needs to inform the software/web group it's set wrong.

Other than un-installing and re-installing the whole thing, you could try the following:

...Save your tax file and Exit TurboTax....then:

     1)  right click TurboTax 2024 icon

    2)  Select  … Properties

    3)  Select the  Compatibility tab

    4) In the "Settings" box … check the box to "Run this program as an administrator"

    5) Apply...OK...then restart the program and try the in-software update again

Also, waiting Windows OS updates have been known to block proper updates.   Make sure all your Windows updates are done, and you've re-booted....then try again

TurboTax has not released any information on what will be supported for tax year 2025

Windows 10 is supported for tax year 2024

See this TurboTax website - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/cd-download/tta-system-requirements/
