Question

TT puts me data tax files in a Google Drive folder. Is the actual file on my computer or just a Pointer/link? How do I copy the actual .tax file to a dvd?

Using the TurboTax desktop editions installed on a personal computer the software, by default, stores the tax data file and any saved PDF of tax returns in the Documents directory and in the TurboTax folder.

If you downloaded the tax data file from the TurobTax online web based editions then the data file is downloaded to whatever directory you choose for downloads on your personal computer.

The tax data file will have a file extension of .taxyyyy where yyyy is the tax year of the data file, eg .tax2018 for tax year 2018.
