Question

TT won't let me efile my federal return

It says that I have a problem with a 1099-DIV statement, that the recipient's zip code must be a valid zip code for my state.  I filled in a valid zip code and it still won't accept it.  Very frustrating.  Anyone one have a similar problem?  It then says I have to file by mail but when I click that button it tells me to efile.  I added the 1099-DIv by taking a picture with my phone.

Recommend you review the state entered and the Zip code entered for the IRS form 1099-DIV in question.

Or consider deleting the  IRS form 1099-DIV and re-entering by hand.  Perhaps, a stray character was added that disagrees with TurboTax's computations.

Remove by clicking the trashcan delete icon to the right of the Edit button.

    Re-enter by following these steps:

    • Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
    • Down the left side of the screen, click on Wages & Income.
    • Scroll down to Investments and Savings.  Click Show more to the right.
    • Click Start / Revisit to the right of Dividends on 1099-DIV.
    • At the screen Your investments and savings, Click Add investments.
