Each tax company/preparer is free to charge what they believe their product is worth to the consumer. You are also free to choose whatever product/preparer you feel gives you the best value for your situation.

    I was hoping turbotax can match the TexAct and hoping I can stick with turbotax since I have been using it for the past 15 yrs. oh well I can bring my business somewhere else then. With the 1040Z and standard deduction would cost $79 is a bit extreme to me and I can tell all my friend and family about it.
