turbo tax for windows 11 won't start

I'm trying to install Turbo Tax Deluxe on Windows 11 but after installing, when I start Turbo Tax the application crashes and then exits. I verified that I have C++ library installed 14.42. I have done a repair of the installation and also uninstalled and redownloaded and re-installed all with the same results.

After a lot of searching on other forum I came up with a resolution.  I uninstalled my already installed version of "Visual C++ 14.40".  I also uninstalled Turbo Tax 2024 and then reinstalled.

Once I installed TT 2024, I was shown the screen that indicated that Visual C++ was being installed (which the first time I installed it, did not happen".

    Everything works now.

I also noticed that Visual C++ 14.42 IS NOT a replacement for 14.40.  The installer need to have 14.40 and not a newer version.

Brilliant! I had VC++ 14.40 installed already. But I uninstalled it and redownloaded TT, installed again and it worked. Due to your post, I only had to hunt around and troubleshoot for an hour. Thank you!
