Solved

Turbo Tax is calculating an estimated tax underpayment penalty. However, one of the IRS exceptions applies to me. How do I override the penalty entered by Turbo Tax?

No, you can't override the penalty, but you can ask for a waiver.

Here's how to do that in TurboTax Online:

  1. Sign in to TurboTax.
  2. Select Other Tax Situations.
  3. Select Underpayment Penalties, under Additional Tax Payments.
  4. Answer the first question Yes.
  5. Answer the remaining questions according to your situation.

If you don't see you situation addressed in this section, respond back with more details and TurboTax can help you further.
