turbo tax is not subtracting exempt income and showing I owe tax

    What type of exempt income?  Exempt from state or federal taxes?  Please provide more details. 

    Most income is not exempt from federal taxes.  Be sure you are entering the information in the correct location, as this determines how the income is treated.  Also, be sure you are answering all questions accurately as this also determines how the income is treated.
