Question

Turbo Tax is requiring me to upgrade to a deluxe version because of a form that is not required (even by their own definition in their FAQ). Anyone else have this?

We cannot see your screen or your tax return. What form is TT saying you need? What were you trying to enter when it prompted you to upgrade to Deluxe?

Hello. They are requiring a form for additional medicare tax. But when I researched it it is required for couples filing jointly who make over 250,000 which my wife and I did not eclipse that amount.

Better check your income entries to make sure you did not misplace a decimal or add a zero someplace. If you made a mistake with the amount of income you entered, that might be triggering the Medicare stuff.

If you have not registered, paid or e-filed you can clear and start over in a lower version of the software.
