TurboTax 2019 asks Standard or Itemized in 2018....but I see no Schedule A in 2018 Tax PDF

TurboTax 2019 asks if you did Standard or Itemized deductions in 2018.

In my 2018 TT generated PDF and .tax2018 files I see NO Schedule A right after the 1040 form. I see a schedule 1.

My 2017 TT generated PDF and .tx2017 shows a Schedule A right after the 1040 form.

What gives?

Never Mind. I finally figured out that TT used a Standard Deduction in 2018...thus no Sch A. This was the first year I couldn't do an Itemized Deduction...well since I can't remember.

I am stuck on this too. Referring to my TurboTax prepared 2018 return, I see an amount of $25,300 entered on line 8 of my 1040 form. The standard deduction noted on the 2018 1040 for married filing jointly is listed on the side as $24,000. I have looked through all of the forms yet I do not see a Schedule A. How can an amount greater than the standard deduction not have a corresponding Schedule A??????

Because if one of you is 65 or older or blind, the Standard Deduction is increased.

Why doesn't TurboTax spell out that the Standard Deduction is greater for those older than 65? A minor detail for some, but not knowing this detail sent me on an hour-long goose chase. If you use the Standard Deduction then no Schedule A is included in one's return. But, if the amount entered in line 8 of your 1040 doesn't match the cited Standard Deduction printed on the 1040, you assume itemized deductions prevailed. Geez...
