Turbotax Deluxe enclosed in hard plastic cover

I bought the Turbotax Deluxe which is enclosed in hard plastic cover. I can not open the cover. In fact I have damaged my finger trying to open the cover. How do you open this cover? Thanks

It can be difficult to open. Can you try wedging the edge of a coin in the crack then twist? Or some other tool that you can slip into the crack.

I tried using a knife and got my finger caught in the hard plastic and injured my finger. There must be an easier/safer way to open the container.

Oh my, don't use something sharp. Try the coin, paperclip, pen tip or something else that can keep it open enough so that you can wedge something thicker in to twist.
