TurboTax investment account download

While trying to download my Fidelity account, I accidentally selected the user credentials for a different account that I manage (my SIL).  I can deselect the imported file so that data is not transferred to TT.  However, when I go back to import, TT remembers the incorrect account credentials.  How do I make TT forget the wrong account and give me a chance to provide the proper credentials?

I figured it out.  TT doesn't log out of the investment account.  When I repeated the import, since my browser was already logged in to the incorrect account, it downloaded that account's information.  I logged out at Fidelity, then logged in to the correct account and was able to download my investment information.

I would suggest that TT should log out after the 1099 information is downloaded, rather than leave the connection live.

Does turbotax require my user id and password to download from my brokerage?

Yes, you must log in to your brokerage account through Turbotax.

You can either wait until prompted by TurboTax to import your brokerage statements (e.g., Form 1099-B or Form 1099-DIV), or you can go directly to the import feature by searching for “import” in the search box (top right in the TurboTax interface), then selecting the option to “Jump to Import.”
