Turbotax is mistakenly saying we will be getting social security tax back with married couple

Using turbotax desktop, I've entered W2s. One spouse has maxed out the social security tax withheld at $9,932.40 and the other hasn't. Turbotax mistakenly gives a message after entering the W2s that we are getting money back as too much social security tax was withheld. However, this isn't correct as neither spouse has withheld more than $9,932.40 in social security tax. Will this cause problems with filing?

So how much does it say you are getting back?  Try leaving the cents off both of them.  Or check W2 box 12.  You may have entered Code A by mistake.

Make sure you have each W-2 assigned to the correct person, either the taxpayer or the spouse.

Yes it's a problem!   Don't file until you fix it.  You entered both W2s for the same person.  I would delete them and re enter them paying close attention to enter them under the right name.  Also leave the cents off yours.  That has been causing problems.

No, the W2s are separate for each person. On the summary screen where turbotax says "Congrats! Looking like you're getting some cash back" there is a person 1's W2 section and a person 2's W2 section so each W2 is assigned corrected to each person.
