turbotax is NOT free, or even cheap compared to other places

After spending 4 hours doing my taxes myself, I get to the end and am being charged $193!!! My CPA charges $150 and completes it in an hour. I just procrastinated and waited till the last day and my CPA didn't have any availability for me, which is why I resorted to TurboTax, but i was NOT expecting $193! Misleading and very disappointing! (No, I didn't purchase anything extra, this is literally just for doing my federal and state taxes)

You must have used the Premium version for investments and self employment. Yes it is 129 for federal and 64 for state. Have you paid yet? You could have bought a lower version in the Desktop program. All the Desktop programs have the same forms. You just get more help and guidance in the higher versions.

If you haven’t filed or paid you can switch to the Desktop installed program. You can move your Online file to the Desktop program and continue without paying for Online or needing to reenter your info. You can buy the CD/Download here. You need a full Windows or Mac computer to install it.
