TurboTax isn’t accepting the employer ID on my W2

The Employer Identification Number (EIN) is a nine digit number in the this format - XX -XXXXXXX. It is located in Box B on your W-2 form, usually just above or below the employer's name and address. 

 

If you entered the EIN as it is shown on the W-2 form and it was rejected by the IRS, ask your employer if the number is correct.
