TurboTax keeps defaulting back to saying I recieved a 1095-A even though I click "no" and "no" to unemployment. Where else can I look to prevent this?

Please look under

Deductions & Credits

Scroll down to MEDICAL

Scroll down and select Affordable Care Act

Go through the interview and select No for unemployment and No for 1095-A

You may have visited this area before and it created a 1095-A form.  You can go to "Forms" view instead of "step-by-step" and search for that form and delete it.  Sometimes when you visit an area and either accidentally enter yes, or even enter a zero, a form will get created, that you may not need.

Forms mode is not available in TurboTax Online.  To delete the 1095-A from TurboTax, when you are signed into your tax return:

  1. Search for 1095-A or search for 1095-a or search for aca (any of those work) and use the Jump to link to be taken to the questions.
  2. Answer the question about unemployment and the next screen will show your 1095-A that was started.
  3. Use the Delete button or the trash can icon depending on your version to delete the form.
  4. Confirm the deletion.

You can also delete the form in Forms Mode, if using the desktop software or by clicking on Tax Tools >>> Tools >>> Delete a form in TurboTax Online.   You only need to delete the Form 1095-A.   TurboTax will automatically delete the related Form 8962 when you delete the 1095-A.

Once the form is gone,  repeat step one above, but answer NO to the ''Did you receive a 1095-A''  question.   Then go through the filing steps.
