TurboTax not saving

I have been working on my return lately.  I explicitly Save each time before I am done for the day.  Yet tax2024 file is more than 15 days ago.  Only taxbak files are more recent.  When I opened my return today, it is as if many days of progress is gone.  I was going to recheck and file today, now it seems most of my effort/info is gone.  I am unable to open the taxbak file with Open Tax Return.  Please help. Thanks

TurboTax does not use that format.

A saved desktop tax return has a file extension of .taxYYYY, where YYYY is the tax year, eg .tax2024 for tax year 2024.  Each time the tax return is Saved, it will overwrite the prior saved tax return so only the latest save will be available.

Click on the File menu at the top left of the desktop program screen.

    Click on Save

I Clicked Save from File menu every time at the end of the day.  It didn't work.  I only find out weeks later.

That is not from Turbo Tax.  It is from the Taxbak software.  Turbo Tax uses files that end in .tax2023, .tax2024 etc.  or you might have malware.  Are you on windows or Mac?

I found an old post.  See,

    Solved: .taxbak file, why do

I do not have Taxbak; I only have TurboTax.  Support told me that is the back up of the images but it is of no use.  I have to start over.
