Solved
TurboTax Online's filing tools do not ask for taxes paid to the school district throughout the year or import taxes paid to the school district from a W-2. There is no way to manually correct the form. Because of this, the filing indicates a balance is due (assuming no taxes have been paid), when I should be due a refund. Because it also believes no taxes have been paid it also tries to generate "coupons" for estimated payments for 2025.
First, you need to make sure your withholding from your W-2 flows to your SD-100. Please follow the instructions below:
- Open or continue your return.
- Go to W-2 and click on the pencil icon to edit.
- Under the Local taxes section (Boxes 18-20), please ensure that your school district number is in Box 20.
- Click Continue.
Then, enter any additional SD-100 payments you made for 2024. To do so, please follow the instructions below:
- Open your return.
- Click on Federal on the left hand side of your screen.
- Click on Deductions & Credits.
- Click on Estimates and Other Taxes Paid.
- Click Start next to Income Taxes Paid.
- Scroll down to Other Income Taxes Paid in 2024.
- Click Start next to Withholding not already entered on a W-2 or 1099.
- Select School District Tax, OH and enter the amount.
- Click Continue.
