TurboTax Online version is not allowing me to enter retirement date from Louisiana State Employees Retirement System

TurboTax Online version is not allowing me to enter retirement date from Louisiana State Employees Retirement System which is resulting in taxes being owed on the state return. These taxes should not be owed as income from the LA state employee retirement system are not taxable on the Louisiana Return. It seems to be a glitch in the  software. Is anyone else having this issue?

You will not see a retirement date unless there is an other in Box 16 (State distribution) on the Form 1099-R screen.

 

  1. Type 1099-r in Search (magnifying glass) in the top right corner
  2. Tap Jump to 1099-r
  3. On "Here's your 1099-r info," edit your pension
  4. Enter the Box 2a amount in Box 16
  5. Go back to Louisiana and you will see the box for the retirement date
