Solved

TurboTax shows I do not owe a penalty or have to file Form 2210, but error check at the end keeps telling me there are Form2210AI fields to fill in. Why?

Delete the Form 2210.  Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the screen.  Click on Tools.  Click on Delete a form

Form 2210 can not be deleted on windows 10 cd home and business. When I try to delete it then it comes back and says not filled out yet.

I called Turbotax and they said there will be a fix coming out on 2/22.

I am having the same problem as many others with needlessly generating the 2210 form.  TTax is working on a fix and I was told on the phone it should be ready by March 1st.  Saw online a post from TTax that said March 8th.  The IRS rejected my return twice, even after TTax said it was fixed to re-submit.  Help Desk at TTax said (after 20 minute wait) that she has "no communication" with the higher ups at TTax, they don't tell her anything.  The best solution will be a different tax prep program next year.  A simple email to all of the users would have informed us of the bug and the expected fix date so we didn't spend countless hours trying to fix a problem that can't be fixed.  If everyone that has this problem switches software next year, TurboTax will get the message in lost sales and then be bought out by someone who has better customer service.  Will be interesting to watch!

cbmstr8nr...to get the 1040 to be accepted by the IRS simply go into the program and manually set your 2017 income to "0" on the carryover worksheet...that will solve it.

This is still messed up as of 01 March 2021. It has me fill in the fields , then gives the wrong information in the form itself. It seems the only workaround is to not efile and do a mail in return.

@cburns1, if you do know owe a penalty, may I ask have you tried deleting the form?

I deleted the form even though I do owe a small penalty. I think there is a software bug in the turbotax software though.
