One account has Interest Income for Box 1 ------ No dividends.

The other account has No interest, but does have Total Ordinary Dividends for Box 1a.

Where do I put the infor for Box 1a?

Sounds like two different forms, and you are attempting to enter the data in the wrong form.

1099-INT......has a box 1  (plus more numbered boxes if needed.)

a 1099-DIV has a box 1a, and 1b (and more boxes if needed)....but if you are seeing a box 1...then you are in the wrong form..  got out of it, delete this particular extra form (probably a 1099-INT)   and go the the 1099-DIV area to enter that data
