Question

Two years in a row getting error message on AGI. I'm looking at a letter from the IRS I received today which has the same number I used. How can it be wrong?

If your 2018 tax return is being rejected due to the 2017 AGI not matching IRS records, this will assist you with fixing the issue: https://ttlc.intuit.com/replies/3300702

The AGI used in filing the return should be the AGI on your 2017 return as originally filed. If you had to amend your 2017 return, or if the IRS adjusted your return, and it changed your AGI, the updated AGI is not the right number to use.  You need to provide the AGI from the original return, as this is the number that will be in the IRS'  automated system.

The IRS didn't change our AGI, but did have an issue with the EITC credit. Tried filing with 0. Fingers crossed.
