Ukrainian Immigrant came through U4U program

Hi,

I entered the US January 23, 2024. I was here the whole time. I am still here and plan to be here all of 2025.

I have SSN with DHS authorization for work. I was admitted through U4U program have a I-94 document.

I did not have income Jan 1- Jan 23, 2024 in any other countries.

Do I file 2024 taxes as regular 1040? Or do I need to file the 1040NR?

If I file regular 1040, do I have to submit a statement for first year resident election by mail?

Since you have been in the US for more than 183 days in 2024, you qualify as a resident alien. You may file a US 1040 return.
