I purchased the software and am trying to file a return and it says I’ve reached the maximum efile. This is my first return on this program

Where did you buy it?  There are some scam places that sell used License Codes.

did you purchase from an authorize seller? there are many websites that offer the app at a substantial discount. which can mean multiple unauthorize copies were made and sold making the license invalid

Has anyone else (such as family members, friends) efiled with your computer or using your email address?    In any case, this can't be resolved in the user community forum.   Please phone TurboTax Support for assistance.

I bought it from an Amazon, which I’ve done in the past. 😔

As mentioned above, you will need to contact support for assistance with this issue, but please note that there are limitations on the software that could prevent you from e-filing.

If you use TurboTax Desktop, you can file five federal returns with up to three state returns each. Additionally, no more than five Intuit accounts and five corresponding federal returns (for example, for a family of five) may be created, purchased, and filed using any one email address. See, How many tax returns can I file with TurboTax?
