Unable to transfer 2019 tax return data into 2020 return

I can find my files, but TT refuses to even acknowledge them.  I can also find copies of the pdf of the return, but TT starts to work on them and then gives an error message: Unable to transfer, but don't worry! We will walk you through typing it all in again!!!

So proud of themselves! Well I know how to type, but I should NOT have to type in everything that is already stored on my computer!  Seriously, what has happened to TT? It was never great but it wasn't horrible like this before!!!

Please check this article for steps in uploading the tax data file:

How do I open my tax return in the TurboTax software I installed?

No such file as .tax exists for 2019 on my Mac. Only pdf; which it appears TurboTax will input from other applications. Going to take a significant investment in time to get the same information inputted again. Interestingly enough, the ***19 file does not exist either, although I do have a ***18 file. Only the 2019.pdf file exists for last year.

The ***18 file information will not import either, but would have been of little benefit since 2019 was significantly more complicated.

Here is a help article for finding your .tax file in Mac. Click here to review.  Just to make sure, you did not prepare in TurboTax Online then download the .pdf file after you were finished?  You could log into your TurboTax Online account and down load your 2019 .tax file if you did.
