Unable to Update Entry on Turbo Tx

I am using the downloaded version, not online.

Stepping through the entries

I want to Update something but when I select Update the page states Thanks you're all set......

But I want to step back through this section for Medical Expenses to reenter the information - How can I step through this section again to Update what I entered.

When we select Update, we should be able to step back through the form

How can I do this?

Yes, you can edit the information that you have entered in TurboTax, as long as you haven't filed your tax return yet.

Here's how to revisit the Medical deductions section in TurboTax Desktop:

    1. Open your return in TurboTax.
    2. Select Federal, then Deductions & Credits.
    3. Select Update to the right of Medical Expenses.
    4. If you see a question, Are your medical expenses more than $XXX? answer Yes.
    5. If at this point, it still doesn't walk you through the section, select the Forms icon in the upper right corner.
    6. You will see the Medical Expenses worksheet and the entries that you made.

It's not recommended to make entries in Forms mode, but it's helpful to see what is in the return.

As for why the return is behaving this way, you may have more deductions than you need to offset your income. If that's the case, additional entries won't change your results.

I was already past the Are your medical expenses more than....and I selected Yes, but then realized I forgot to add something, and can't get back to that on GUI. I do see worksheet but that is harder to enter so I wanted to start over and step through the GUI again. I've noticed a few years in a row this is same behavior on other screens, once you've gone past that can't go back , even though there is the Update button, you can't actually Update anything through the GUI.

Trying using the Jump to schedule a link to get back to the interview screens.   Type is schedule a in the search bar and then click on the jump to link - it should take you to the beginning of the medical expense interview > prescription medication costs.

I had this SAME exact issue.  Called Phone Support.  They were absolutely WORTHLESS!  I refuse to share my screen in order for them to simply give the EXACT steps that were offered here by the awesome TurbotTax Support.  Again, Phone Support for TurboTax is an absolute waste of time!  These instructions fixed my problem (deleting the Medical Worksheet from forms, then re-entering.)  If this is a KNOWN ISSUE with TurboTax now, then WHY do they NOT RE-CODE the Medical "Update" link so that it will WORK?  I have used TurbTax for about 8 years, but this year it is proving to be more difficult, including the verbiage used (not similar to IRS verbiage in some questions), and lack of information (not always giving 1040 form line numbers when asking for information from previous tax year to calculate certain deductions).

This is very frustrating, I'm on my 3rd call. I am on the online version so I dont have access to worksheets. They have no idea how to help. I have to completely delete and start over. Incredible.
