Question

Under "Let's check for work-related Moving Expenses", it says "We noticed your address changed." But, I didn't move. What does that mean and how do I address it? Thanks!

Can it be that I went from MY entry of my address to the "Suggested" US post office version of it and the AI saw it as a "different" address? Idk, just throwing out ideas.

There is no moving expense deduction for Federal purpose except for certain specified individuals. However, some states do allow a deduction

for Federal (form 3903)

You can deduct moving expenses only if you are a Member of the Armed Forces on active duty and, due to a
military order, you, your spouse, or your dependents move because of a permanent change of station.

Per the tax laws that changed for 2018 and beyond, moving expenses are not deductible on a federal return except for certain active duty members of the military.

There are several states that allow a deduction for moving expenses on the state return:  AZ, AR, CA, HI, IA, MA, MN, NJ, NY, PA and VA  You can enter your moving expenses in the federal software and the information will flow to your state return.

Go to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Other Deductions and Credits>Moving Expenses

Go back to the My Info section of TT and make sure that you did NOT indicate that you lived in another state in 2023.
