Unemployment compensation
I received unemployment compensation benefits in 2021, but paid back some in 2022. Do I take the amount off my 2021 taxes?
No you do not enter the amount paid back in 2022 on the 2021 tax return. You will enter the repayment on your 2022 tax return that is filed next year.
