I have a desktop version Turbotax. After I filled out everything and printed the forms out to review On the 540NR form Part III line 1(Medical and dental expenses), there are numbers, and it shouldn't be because I didn't have any medical expenses. I would like to trace back to see where did the software get that number. Please advice.

thanks!

Windows or Mac? You could have 1095-A or Social Security showing that you did not enter.

Windows:  When I right click in the first column and go to Data Source, the program says it is coming from the federal medical  itemized.  When I go to the right hand column and right click to Data Source, I get the CA medical itemized.

Once you right click and select data source, it shows the form and the amount. Click on the dollar amount to see it on its form.

MAC: top of the screen look for a tax data button. It will show your data sources. Command click does other things, just not data source.
