I purchased US treasury Bills- 2 months and 1 month term through my personnel brokerage account.1099-INT reported the interest income from these matured bills in Box 3 (Interest on U.S. Savings Bonds and Treasury Obligations). Turbo Tax asks the question- Did you cash any series EE or I saving bonds although I did not purchase any of these bods. How should I answer this question?

Answer No.

The YEs selection only applies to actual EE- or I- savings bonds.

Occasionally, people can exempt some of the box 3 interest if from actual savings bonds, if the $$ went to pay education expenses.  But that doesn't apply to regular US Treas Notes/Bonds/Bills
