Verification

Hello.

Why does it say 1 – SSN not in file (never issued)? Is this because the SSA records are not updated or?

I checked everything looks fine, then why does this error when I try to verify my SSN?

And why doesn't say the state where it was issued, just says invalid, is this good or bad if state of issuance doesn't match?

May we get some additional information to be able to assist you further?

Where are you completing this verification?  Is this on the SSA website?

    Hello.

Yes, it was on the SSA website verification tool, and now it looks like I will not be able to file.

Suggestions, please? Why does it turn out that way, I mean this error? What might be the reason?

You will need to confirm with the Social Security Administration to verify your information.

The IRS obtains their information directly from them and if there are any discrepancies, the information will not match and result in errors.

If you are unable to verify their information, you will probably need to mail your tax return in as you won't be able to electronically file.  Please see this Help Article here for more details.
