When trying to manually input my w2 information it has a section after the employer sections that says “ show employee information. Unfortunately my name has legally changed (yes with social security too) and so has my address so the information on my w2 is my old name and old address . Which information would I input for that section? Old information or the new information that is updated in my personal information section for my return ?
Use the name that matches your current Social Security card. For your own address, use the address you want the IRS to use if they need to mail you a letter or a check. Make sure the Social Security number is correct.
