This does resolve the issue.

February 12, 2021

Here is what I did to resolve the issue of my efiling being rejected with "Our records indicate that you are not entitled to efile one or more formsets"

And before I tell you the solution that I came up with let me state that when I spoke with TurboTax staff today and yesterday, they had absolutely no clue how to resolve the issue.

Okay, so since I had already paid for the federal return I could not delete it. I then realized through no fault of my own Turbo Tax never requested I pay for the state return. So I deleted the state return. I then re-added the state return and this time Turbo Tax requested payment. I paid and then bam!! I was able to efile successfully!!

This is an obvious flaw within Turbo Tax that they need to fix!!!

February 12, 2021

So you got double charge in turbo tax?

Because I did the same, I paid  then the message appeared the error message, then I’ve read forum that need to redo the state. So I REDO STATE but I am hesisting to file again becuase you need to pay again. I really don’t know what to do please help.

February 12, 2021

I paid once for federal and once for state. I always had to pay separately for state but this year it did not ask me to pay for state the first time but then I deleted state and added it back and the efile finally went through.

I need a response a well

UPDATE!!! on above comment^^

so like i said i deleted my state taxes and re did them, then it asked me to pay again (i already had paid $40 dollars and it asked me to pay another $40) i didnt want to so i called to get an explination for having to pay again. guy on the phone said that i paid $40 for my federal, now i had to pay $40 for my state, I didnt understand why if originally it only made me pay $40. well I gave in and paid the $40 again. and it worked i was able to submit. so I think one of two things happened, either there was a glitch in the system and it never prompted me to pay the total $80 from the beggining. or there was something wrong with my state taxes and by deleting and resubmitting it fixed my issue. all in all paying another $40 for avoiding a headache wasnt a big deal. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU ALL!!

February 13, 2021

They have always charged 2 separate fees, one for federal and one for state...just so you know they are not charging you extra.

This is what helped me. I deleted state return and was able to file immediately. thank you

February 14, 2021

I had the same issue. For 2 days I kept getting errors that I couldn’t file certain a forms. I now realized Turbo tax charged me just for the federal and not the state tax. After reading your post. I deleted the state filing and processed the fed, the federal transmittal went through just fine. Now I have to file the state separately. Turbo tax should fix this issue.

February 14, 2021

After many attempts of trying to eFile with this issue, here is what I found and How I fixed it.

You will get this error if you filing with TurboTax Deluxe but if TurboTax asked you to pay 39$ for the federal but never asked for State (State is free only when you file your Federal for free in TurboTax).

If you are sure that you only paid for Federal (39$) but not for State, then that is what preventing to eFile.

How to Fix ?

Go to state and delete the state only (not the federal that you already paid for) and add it again. This will trigger to pay for state and will resolve the issue once you proceed to eFile.  I tried multiple ways without deleting the state. But this seems to be the only option unless you Chat or Speak with the customer service.

Hmmm...thanks but I posted that fix yesterday. And customer service has no clue!! None!!!

I tried removing state then it's prompting me to pay again even if I already paid for filing the federal tax. What do I need to do?
