We did not do the complete RMD for 2024. I completed it yesterday. How do I report it on the 2024 return?

Search for 1099-R and use the jump to link.   Answer NO if you did not receive a 1099-R and then answer the disaster distributions question.   The next question will ask you if you missed your require minimum distribution (RMD) from any retirement accounts.   Choose the type of account you owned as of 12/31/24.   Then click Continue to report your missed RMD.

TurboTax will help you complete a waiver if you have reasonable cause.

My issue is that a second Annuity IRA was supposed to be used to cover the balance of my spouse's total RMD withdrawal.  It did not get done due to the death of her older brother creating a distraction.  We completed the correct withdrawal on April 7, 2025.  Is it still appropriate to request a waiver?

In the case of the death of the person who was supposed to handle the RMD requesting a waiver seems not only appropriate but almost a given.
