What are you doing with our stimulus money which was sent to TurboTax by government error

TurboTax does not receive tax refunds or other payments on behalf of customers. We did not receive any customer’s payment.  Any funds that were directed to the wrong account must, by law, be returned to the IRS for reissue.

However, we are aware that a number of our customers were affected by a processing error that occurred during the distribution of the second round of payments.

We have been working with the IRS as they attempt to resolve this issue, ensuring that information on file for all TurboTax customers is accurate. We expect some affected customers to receive payments within the next few days.  Others may be required to claim the payment as a credit on their 2020 tax return.
