Does the protection that paid for help with the identity verification?

    No.. identity verification is between you and the IRS.  Sometimes the IRS chooses returns for identity verification randomly and sometimes it is for a reason.   You need to provide the IRS with the information they want from you----they are making sure your identity was not stolen--and that you did not steal someone else's identity.  When you satisfy them, you will be able to get your refund.
