What do i do if my employer leaves boxes 1-6 empty on my w-2 because i did not make that much with them. they did fill out the state just not federal

i recieved my w-2 from my employer, i only started the job in the last quarter of 2023. my problem is they did not fill out any of the information federal they only filled out for only the state.

You will need to contact them to get a corrected W-2.  Even if you only made $500 with them, they still need to enter the amounts in boxes 1-6.  Although you may not have had a federal tax liability on that much income, they still would have needed to withhold your Medicare and SS taxes.  

 

If they refuse, then you will walk through the steps to enter your W-2 on TurboTax, then after you hit continue it will ask if any of these uncommon situations apply.  Select that you did not get a W-2, then TurboTax will walk you through the steps of completing a substitute W-2.

Then your W2 is wrong.  Check with the employer.  Or did you get another W2 from them without state on it?

Nothing in box 1?     Did you even receive a paycheck from them in 2023?   Ask them why there is nothing in box 1!!!!!
