First, check the status of your stimulus payment using the Get my Payment button at this link.  If your stimulus payment has not yet been mailed, you'll be able to enter your current banking information to get a direct deposit of the stimulus payment.

If your check has been mailed to the wrong address, and isn't forwarded to your new address, you'll need to call the IRS for assistance once the IRS as resumed phone service.

I would suggest that if you can confirm and prove it was mailed to the wrong address, DO NOT WAIT for anything. Do whatever it takes to contact the IRS by any means possible to have that check cancelled/voided, and have them mail you a new one or do direct deposit.

It's not that the occupants of the wrong address would do anything illegal. But there are people riding around and checking mail boxes so they can steal stimulus checks. (Sheriff caught a couple in my neighborhood about 2 weeks ago.)
