What do I do when there is nothing on my W-2 Box 20 (locality name), but it keeps asking me for it?

I have nothing under that box, but the software keeps asking me for it. Is this a glitch in the system?

Are you reporting information in boxes 18 and 19 of the IRS form W-2? If so, the software wants the name of a locality to assign the local tax to. Do you know what the name of the locality should be?

If you have information in boxes 18 and 19 and do not know the name of the locality, you can put the name of the state in the box, but the local tax may not be assigned correctly.

If you do not have information in boxes 18 and 19, delete the line by clicking the Delete trashcan to see whether you can remove the error.
