What does it mean when my amended return is being rejected because of no Xpath available ?

It could mean that there is some issue with the submitted information or the path itself. No Xpath Available is an error code when data in the return is missing or invalid. An example would be trying to e-file a state that does not accept e-filed amended returns. The only states accepted e-filed amended state returns are: Georgia, Michigan, New York, and Vermont.

Do not answer any alert to this, but first objectively check what is on file with the IRS: Where's My Amended Return? | Internal Revenue Service or with your state: How do I contact my state Department of Revenue?

• If it is really rejected, then review the return(s) and try again, making sure to use a device that meets minimum system requirements.
• If everything is in order and the amended return was never rejected, then the Xpath notification was spam and should be reported. See: Avoid phishing scams and spoofed sites.
