Question

What exactly is the purpose of the stimulus filing section of turbo tax? I put in my basic info, It promptly gets rejected with no explanation on how to fix it, and then instructs me to mail it. Why w

The stimulus registration site in TurboTax is for taxpayers who do not receive social security benefits and are not normally required to file a tax return. Those who have filed a 2018 or 2019 return do not need to register to receive their stimulus payments. The IRS will be opening a portal for taxpayers who did file can set up their direct deposit information. Please view this IRS link for more information.
