Report Form 1099-NEC on Schedule C.

  1. After signing into TurboTax, select "Take Me to My Return"
  2. Type "Schedule C" in the search field at the top right hand of the screen.
  3. Select "Jump To Schedule C" and you will be brought to the section of TurboTax where you can enter or have entered your business income and expense information.

File form 1099-MISC under Other Income and then back it out with an explanation, "income reported twice".

You can add it as other income

     Wages & Income

  • I'll choose what I work on
  • Less Common Income select Start (or Update) for
  • Miscellaneous Income.
  • Other reportable income and you can enter your own description(s) and amount(s).

You should not receive two forms for the same money.

It might be possible to have both self-employed income on the 1099-NEC and another type of income on the 1099-MISC but it would not be the same money for the same reason.

Ask the issuer of the forms.
