If you have not yet filed your tax return you can return to your Online account and edit the Health Insurance entries by following the steps below:

  • Sign into your Online account and select Take me to my return.
  • Select Federal in the left side bar.
  • Next select Health Insurance at the top.
  • Follow the onscreen instructions to review and edit your entries if needed.

If you have already filed your tax return and you believe the Health Insurance section is incorrect you can always Amend your tax return to make the necessary changes.

You would first need to wait and see if your tax return has been accepted or rejected. If rejected, you can go back and follow the steps above to edit.

If accepted you should wait until after your tax return has been processed and you have received your tax refund and then Amend.

My return was rejected because I accidentally entered too few of months for healthcare coverage and was rejected because of not having a 1095-A.

Logging back into my turbotax account and clicking on my federal return, there is no Healthcare option at the top as this thread describes.

Please advise.

Did you have a Marketplace plan that issues a 1095-A?    If not, you don't have to enter anything about your health insurance in your Federal return.  There is no longer a penalty for not having Health Insurance.

If you do have a 1095-A to enter, here's How to Enter 1095-A.   Type '1095-A' in the Search window, then click on 'Jump to 1095-a'.
